Early this morning we were testing the full-stack device-side firmware and the full-stack server-side software of Case, and at approximately 3:30am we made our very first transaction. One of our engineers, Eric, came up with the idea that the first transaction we make from the device should actually be a donation to a cause we all care about. After little debate we agreed that the Hal Finney Bitcoin Fund for ALS Research was the perfect place to send our bitcoin.
Everything about the timing of our first transaction was perfect, well, except that it was 3:30 in the morning. The first small batch of Case is being manufactured today, so it was helpful that we worked out all of the kinks in software and firmware before sending the hardware down the line. Second, today is Giving Tuesday. Giving Tuesday is a global day for giving, and the perfect opportunity to show off your generous side. We’re happy to be a part of it and hope that you’ll join us in giving what you can to a cause that you’re passionate about.
